Constant Zone - What you need to know!

What is a Constant Zone?
A constant zone is an outlet that is selected to always run whenever the system is on. It is usually an area that is frequently used that has a relatively low kW usage

What is the purpose of a constant zone?
The constant zone is a safety feature. If you were to turn on the Air Conditioner and forget to select a zone then critical air pressure would build up inside the ducting and consequently damage your system. A constant zone is needed to allow for constant airflow whenever the system has been switched on.

Can I select what area I have as a constant?
Yes, the constant zone is entirely up to you; however we do recommend you select an outlet with relatively low kW requirements and an appropriate distance from the return air grille.

Do I have to have a constant?
This depends on what system and controller you select. Some controllers such as the MyAir3 do not require a constant. This is because the safety feature is already built into the controller so if the system is building up critical air pressure inside the ducting from not having enough zones open it will automatically open up a preselected dump zone to release excess air.
